What's New

New Visitor System

We have a new visitor system this year. Please remember to bring your drivers license or ID to check in and receive a badge. We will not use this for the supply drop-off or other family events. We will use it for the day to day visitors volunteers, and Stay & Play.

Homerooms Available on August 24

It came to our attention that student schedules were briefly visible in the new ParentSquare component of Skyward. We disabled this feature immediately upon learning of the issue. Please note that homeroom assignments are still being finalized and may change prior to August 24.

Immunization Records or Waivers

Every student must have an up to date immunization record or waiver on file in the office. Please contact the School Nurse, Julie Bishop with questions at jbishop@williamsbayschool.org.

NUT FREE ZONE

The 2nd/3rd grade hallway/neighborhood is NUT FREE this year. There will also be an area in the lunchroom that is NUT FREE. If your child is in 2nd or 3rd grade, please plan ahead to keep all items containing nuts out of the area. I have provided a list here of SAFE Snacks & Treats if you are looking for items that are safe to share with students in these classes.

WBES Student Handbook

The 2026-2027 WBES Student Handbook is available to review. An important item to note in the student handbook:

  • Elementary school students should not bring cell phones, smart watches, or personal devices of any kind to school. Students who bring a personal device to school will leave it in the office when they arrive at school and pick it up when they leave school each day.

The First Day of School, September 1

On September 1, parents and guardians are welcome to wait outside with their children until teacher supervision begins at 8:15 AM. To maintain a safe and secure environment, all drop-offs will take place outside the building—parents and guardians will not be permitted to walk students to the playground or classrooms. In addition to enhancing campus security, this procedure helps foster independence and responsibility in our students.

Stay & Play

The Williams Bay School District will continue offering a free, weekly program for children from infants to age four. The Stay & Play Program is designed to promote play, social development, and provide engaging interactions for children in Williams Bay.
During our Stay and Play Program, parents/guardians stay with their children while they are engaging in activities and play while getting the opportunity to gain knowledge regarding child development and be informed about community resources that are available. There is no need to sign up. This program is held at Williams Bay Elementary School with our school staff on Tuesdays from 8:30-9:30 beginning September 15.

Drop off/Pick Up Information

Drop-Off/Arrival
Students can be dropped off at school at 8:15 AM. Students in 3K & 4K will stand in front of the entrance doors. Students in grades K-2 will stand in a line along the sidewalk closest to the gym. Students in grades 3-5 will stand in a line on the sidewalk leading to the playground. Staff will start supervision at 8:15 AM. At that time students are escorted from the front of the building and the buses to play on the playground or walk on the walking path. Students will enter the building at 8:25 AM. Any student who enters the building after 8:30 AM is considered tardy. On days with inclement weather, students will be able to wait inside the building until dismissed to their classrooms at 8:25 AM.
Dismissal (3:30)
Please be sure to inform your child's teacher how your child is getting home. Students will exit through one of four doorways depending on their mode of transportation.
  • 3K students will exit front doors
  • Bus riders: exit door C3 (in the back of the building where the busses park) to wait for the buses
  • Walkers/bikers exit front doors
  • Vehicle pick-up Elementary Circle: exit front doors (last names that start with A-M)
  • Vehicle pick-up Fitness Center: exit Fitness Center doors (last names that start with N-Z)
Drop Off/Pick Up Reminders
  • If your child needs assistance getting into/out of the vehicle and buckled/unbuckled, please park in the lot and walk over to the entrance
  • If your child is old enough to drop off and pick up without parking, the pickup line may be a better option for you as the parking lot gets full early
  • Please unload/load students from the sidewalk only. Some parents may need to move car seats to the passenger side of the vehicle
  • Please pull up as far as you can before unloading/loading to keep the line moving
  • Please stay off cell phones
  • Stay off the grass
  • Dogs are not permitted on school property

WBES PBIS

PBIS Building and Classroom Expectations

What is PBIS?
  • Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports is a proactive systems approach to establishing the behavior supports and social culture needed for all students to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.
Why PBIS?
  • At Williams Bay Elementary School, we are using PBIS as a process for creating a safer and more effective school. PBIS focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students.
The purpose of implementing PBIS at Williams Bay Elementary School is to:
  • establish a consistent method of addressing student behaviors
  • reward/acknowledge children for appropriate behaviors
  • decrease off-task behavior
  • increase and gain back instructional minutes
  • improve our school’s ability to teach positive behavior for all students in all settings
Ways to Help at Home
• Talk to your child about his/her day • Keep communication between you and your child’s teacher active throughout the year • Focus on the positive choices your child is making
• Find ways to practice positive behavior and expectations at home and in community • Teach your children to speak respectfully to others and to use manners • Practice positive phrases with your child such as: thank you, please, excuse me, and I’m sorry
Classroom Expectations: These are general. Teachers will also collaborate with students to develop classroom expectations specific to their classroom.
Building Expectations: If your child is moved to another table at lunch, please talk to your child about what caused them to be moved.
